Hello Swift Water Families,
Welcome to Swift Water Elementary School! We are excited to welcome our Swift Water students and families to our third year in this amazing facility. This summer is busy with some construction and groundwork around the building: we are adding more bicycle stands, extending walkway access to the walking path and field, enhancing drainage next to the covered play area, and providing a changing area. Our projects are progressing well for the start of school.
Swift Water is very fortunate to have an amazing team of educators supporting our students. They are professionals dedicated to meeting the needs of each student and appreciating the unique gifts the students bring to our school community. This year, we are thrilled to have Niccole Griffin join our SEAL team as Deputy Principal. Ms. Griffin brings a passion for supporting all students and is looking forward to meeting our Swift Water families. We all have an opportunity to connect prior to the first day of school at Meet the Teacher on August 30 from 4:30 to 5:30. Also, we have a Walk, Ride and Roll event partnership at the YMCA from 4:00 to 6:00. We will have more details to come sent to families through ParentSquare.
As we head into our third year, I am excited for your help and support in growing Swift Water’s vision for becoming a welcoming community of learners who inspire and empower each other to lead, innovate, and dream. As a collaborative team in support of our students,, the staff have pledged (SEAL of Commitment) to grow our Vision, Mission, and Values. We are committed to building positive relationships and cultivating a sense of belonging in our learning community. We support all students in taking ownership for their learning as a SEAL (Students Empowered; Always Learning!).
As we prepare for this coming school year, it is important that we partner together. Our Volunteer Parent Organization is gearing up to welcome families, provide volunteer opportunities, and offer exciting events and programs to support our students and school. With the support of the VPO, we will create an engaged, inclusive, and caring learning community. Find out how to support our school on the Swift Water VPO webpage and be sure to sign up for their communications.
With a new school year, communication between home and school is important to the success of our learners. We will provide information to families via ParentSquare and the Swift Water Elementary webpage, so please ensure your information is updated in the Parent Portal. If you need help updating this information, you can email our Office Manager, Brenda Abel, at abelb@psd401.net.
Thank you for being a part of Swift Water Elementary School’s learning adventure! We are looking forward to welcoming you to your school!
With kindness,
David Brooks, Principal
