Swift Water Celebration of Learning – Family Night

 Thursday, February 12

5:30 – 7:00 PM

Join us for an engaging, student-led evening celebrating learning through Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA). Our SEALs are excited to share their thinking, creativity, and accomplishments with their families and community.

What Is CKLA?

Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) helps students build strong reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills while also learning important content in history, science, and the arts.

You will see students: 

  • Sharing knowledge through projects and writing

  • Explaining their thinking and learning

  • Connecting literacy with real-world topics

Learning on Display by Grade Level

Kindergarten:  Native American tribes, farms and farm animals,100th Day math projects

1st Grade:  Astronomy, Nose to Toe Learning, Me on Map, Celebrating Learning

2nd Grade:  Insects and cycles in nature – creative “super insect” project

3rd Grade:  Best Part of Me poems and Ancient Rome–inspired artwork

4th Grade:  Student-designed arcade games inspired by Student Inventors

5th Grade:  Inca, Maya, and Aztec projects and original poetry

Currently Creative:  Artwork from all grade levels displayed throughout the building

STEM:  Robots, astronauts, Mars structures, Lego League in the STEM room


We look forward to welcoming our families and celebrating learning together.
