Hello Swift Water Families,
Welcoming, Kind, Positive, Engaging
Welcome to Swift Water Elementary School! It is exciting to think that we are getting ready to begin our second year at Swift Water. One year ago, we were all wondering what this new school would look like and how we would turn this school into a vibrant learning community. After a year of navigating the challenges and changes of opening our new school in the middle of a pandemic, our learning community and our founding SEALS of Swift Water have grown this school into a positive and engaging learning environment.
Lead, Innovate, Dream
As we look to the future, we are fortunate to have an amazing team of educators who are committed to and contributing to our Vision, Mission, and Values. This coming year brings opportunities for all of us to expand our learning and grow our Swift Water learning community. Our mission includes supporting all students in taking ownership for their learning as a SEAL (Students Empowered; Always Learning!). Building positive relationships and cultivating a sense of belonging for all of our SEALS is the key for our success. We are excited for you to join our journey in growing our vision for becoming a welcoming community of learners who inspire and empower each other to lead, innovate, and dream.
Communication, Collaboration, Connection
As we prepare for a new school year, communication is an important factor to help grow our school and family partnerships.
ParentSquare: Last year, our district adopted ParentSquare, a common communication platform to provide consistent communication across all levels in our PSD community. Please be sure to update your contact information in Parent Portal as that provides the foundation for our ParentSquare (communication platform) and Schoology (our learning management system). If you need help updating this information, you can email our Office Manager, Brenda Abel, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Swift Water Elementary Webpage: Our school webpage is also a great place to find information about our school: Swift Water Elementary webpage.
Swift Water Volunteer Parent Organization: This past year, a team of inspired parents established the Swift Water Volunteer Parent Organization. Our newly elected board members are gearing up to welcome families, provide volunteer opportunities, and offer exciting events and programs to support our students and school. With the support of the VPO, we will create an engaged, inclusive, and caring learning community. Find out how to support our school on the Swift Water VPO webpage and be sure to sign up for their newsletter and communications.
Registering new families!
We would appreciate you sharing our PSD registration information with your neighbors that have kindergarten age children or are new to your neighborhood. We would like to get all of our new families registered, so please forward and share this letter and information: PSD registration website.
Thank you for being a part of this new school learning adventure! We are looking forward to welcoming you to your school!
